Erin Pogue Newell is an appellate attorney based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with over a decade of experience practicing civil litigation in Florida’s state and federal appellate courts. With Open Book Appeals, attorney Newell focuses on all facets of civil litigation, particularly in family law, commercial litigation, real property, and plaintiff personal injury appeals.
Since beginning her legal career in 2012, attorney Newell has gained experience in civil and criminal appeals at the state and federal levels and has presented oral argument in all of Florida’s District Courts of Appeal and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.
Attorney Newell has participated as an attorney volunteer with the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division on projects like the Covid-19 Pro Bono Legal Response Project and Disaster Legal Services, and takes pro bono appeals through the Appellate Practice Section of the Florida Bar and Defending Best Interests and Veterans Consortium pro bono programs.
Attorney Newell is also an adjunct professor at Benjamin L. Crump College of Law , where she currently teaches Advanced Legal Research and Writing.
